Wheat

Wheat is probably native to Asia or the Middle East. Archaeological discoveries prove that wheat was grown around 4000 BC and then transported to Europe from Asia through the delta of the Nile. The brown grains are separated from the ear with the threshing. Wheat is the most important ingredient for bread production and this is probably also its best known use. Its versatility is ideal for human consumption.

What is malted flour?

Water must be added to wheat to promote germination -malt. This process is interrupted after several days and the wheat is dried at 60°C. Two important enzymes are produced -Alfamilasi and Betamilasi- which mutually increase the intensity of dextrin and maltose in the wheat.
