Carrots are vegetables rich in carotenes, substance that the body uses for the production of vitamin A which is important for various functions of the body, in particular for visual function. Carrots are very indicated in infant nutrition because they contribute to the absorption of liquids at the intestinal level. They are also good source of flavonoids, antioxidant pigments that act positively on the system. Carrot cultivation is widespread throughout Europe, North Africa and the Asian continent.
